Lubec is Maine's easternmost community


Lubec Maine, is the home of the West Quoddy Head Lighthouse, that was erected in 1808, rebuilt in 1858, and well known for its tower painted in red and white horizontal stripes.


Quoddy Head State Park is located in Lubec, Maine.


About 120 million tins of sardines were packed each year at the canneries in Lubec during the first half of the twentieth century.
